What itemrover does

itemrover searches online marketplaces for items you describe and uses AI to suggest which listings are likely matches. We are a search and alerting tool only. We do not sell items, hold payments or take part in any purchase.

Your account

• You must be at least 18 and able to form a binding contract.
• Give accurate account details and keep your password private. You are responsible for activity on your account.
• Accounts are personal. Don't share or resell access to the service.

Marketplaces and sellers

Listings come from third-party sites such as Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, OfferUp, eBay, Poshmark and Mercari. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by them, and their names belong to their owners. Listings can be inaccurate, out of date, removed or fraudulent. Any deal you make is between you and the seller, on that marketplace's terms. Check items, sellers and payment methods yourself, and meet in safe, public places.

AI suggestions

Match scores, condition notes and other AI output are estimates based on the listing's text and photos. They can be wrong. Use them as a starting point, not as a guarantee that an item is genuine, in the stated condition, or the one you are looking for.

Stolen-item hunts

itemrover can help you spot a listing that may be your stolen property. It cannot confirm that an item is stolen. Don't confront, threaten or publicly accuse a seller. Report what you find to the police and let them handle recovery. You are responsible for how you act on any listing.

Acceptable use

Don't use itemrover to:

• break the law or the rules of the marketplaces it searches;
• stalk, harass or track a person rather than an item;
• scrape, copy or resell the service or its results at scale, or try to get around its limits;
• interfere with the service's security or other users' accounts.

We may suspend or close accounts that do.

Your content

You keep ownership of what you add, such as hunt descriptions, photos and feedback. You give us permission to store and process it, and to send it to the providers named in the privacy policy, only as needed to run itemrover for you. Only add photos and details you have the right to share.

Fees

itemrover is currently offered without charge, by invitation. If we introduce paid plans, we will tell you the price and terms before you are charged, and you can choose not to subscribe.

Changes and ending the service

We may change, pause or stop parts of the service, and update these terms. For significant changes we will give notice by email or in the app, and usingitemrover after they take effect means you accept them. You can stop using itemrover and ask us to close your account at any time.

Disclaimers

itemrover is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties about it, including that it will find every matching listing, that results are accurate, or that it will be uninterrupted or error-free.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for losses arising from listings, sellers, purchases or marketplaces, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or $50. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

Indemnity

If your use of itemrover in breach of these terms leads to a claim against us, you agree to cover our reasonable costs of dealing with it.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Oregon, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim there.
