About itemrover

itemrover watches the second-hand marketplaces for one specific thing, so you don't have to refresh six apps a day. Tell it what you lost or what you want, and it flags the listings that look like the real thing.

Two kinds of hunt

Finding something stolen. Describe your bike, tool or instrument and the details only you would know, like a scratch, a sticker or a replaced part. itemrover skips listings posted before the theft and checks every photo for those details.

Buying something specific. A model in a certain size, colour or condition, under your budget. It filters out the near misses before you ever see them.

How it works

  • It searches Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, OfferUp, eBay, Poshmark and Mercari on a schedule, nearby or shipped to you.
  • Quick checks rule out the wrong size, colour or kind of item, then AI reads each remaining listing and looks at its photos.
  • Each listing gets a match score and a short explanation of why it might or might not be the one.
  • Your good match and bad match answers teach that hunt what to look for next time.

What it isn't

itemrover isn't a marketplace and isn't affiliated with the sites it searches. It never contacts sellers or buys anything for you. Every deal happens on the original site, between you and the seller. For a stolen item, take what you find to the police rather than to the seller.

Your information

Your hunts are private to your account. We don't sell your information or show you ads. The privacy policy covers exactly what we keep and who helps us run the service.
